As recent as 10 to 20 years ago it was not common for women to be in the weight room at the gymnasium performing weight lifting. Women were normally associated with other form of exercises such as aerobic, walking and others.
However today, it is quite common for women to be seen doing weight workout next to men in the weight room. Exercising with weights helps women to develop a nice body muscles and trim off the unwanted fat. It is also a great total body workout.
Why do exercising with weight becoming more popular among women?
There are a few distinct advantages for exercising with weights. They provides an efficient and effective way to speed up metabolism rate and burn the calories. As more body muscles grow and gain extra mass, weight exercises will help to burn up more calories.
It seems that doing weight exercise in combination with proper low calorie intake is a powerful tool for losing weight and building a nice body shape. Balance diet is an important component in muscle building and fat burning.
Without a balance diet you might face a body retaliation by shrinking muscles and storing more fat. This would defies the whole purpose of weight training. Studies shows that exercising with weight not just helping you to lose fat but also beneficial to your heart just as aerobic or any other cardiovascular activities.
Workout training plan
If you are serious about performing total body workout using weight, then you should have a workout training plan. Don’t be misled by an impression that weight training would add bulky muscles to your body and make you look like Lou Ferrigno.
Far from looking like Mr Universe, in fact weight training for women creates a solid muscle fibre with less fat content. Since women are biologically designed to have less muscle mass than man, therefore weight training will bring out the natural lovely feminine curve in your body.
Be warned don’t be so quick to jump on the scale after you got involved with your workout training plan. You might find that your weight is still the same as before if not more. This is actually a good news since muscle actually weight more than fat.
What this means is that you actually lose some fat but develop more muscle. You probably cannot tell yet but after a while your body will demonstrate and you will find that you could fit into clothes and dresses that are a few sizes smaller.
Well, what really matters to you when getting involved with weight training program is to get rid of that stubborn fat and develop your body into a shape that you have always dreamed of.
